After meeting up with your guide in front of the Kusadasi port passenger terminal, you will begin your drive out to Ancient Ephesus, just 1/2 hour away.

|
Your first stop on this fascinating tour is at the House of the Virgin Mary, a Christian shrine in the vicinity of Ephesus. Some Christians and Muslims believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken to this stone house by Saint John following the crucifixion of Jesus. Roman Catholics believe that she lived there until her assumption into Heaven; other denominations of Christians recognize this spot as her burial place.
Now continue on to Ephesus, one of the most magnificent and best-preserved ancient sites in the world. Even those who usually find ruins boring will be captivated by this site. Ancient historians believed that Ephesus was founded by the Amazons, but now it is more commonly believed to have been the Hittite city of Apasa. The Virgin Mary is believed to have visited the site between 37 and 45 A.D. With your guide, you will see the Odeion, where the advisory council held its meetings, the Market Basilica, Curetes Street, Bath, Celsus Library, whose facade has been carefully reconstructed from all original pieces, Marble Street, and the Great Theatre with a seating capacity of 25,000 people.
After lunch visit the Basilica of St. John and see the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, which Alexander the Great visited while it was being constructed in 335 B.C.

I wanted to give your guide Mehmet in Kusadasi an excellent review, but couldn't figure out how to do it on your website. Just want to say that Mehmet was a great guide, very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to the best quiet spots for views of the ruins and made sure we were in the shade when he narrated. We give him 5 stars!

My clients just loved the Christian Ephesus tour. They said the tour director was extremely knowledge, personable and enjoyable. The Vatican tour was good. Christian Ephesus was a 12 out of 10.

We really enjoyed our ShoreTrips excursion in Kusadasi on May 15th. Our guide was a beautiful young woman who obviously loved her country and it's history and did a great job. Going with a private guide made the trip so much more meaningful as we heard everything she had to say, and our lunch experience at the weaving school was so pleasant. We will indeed use ShoreTrips on our future vacations.

I spoke with the Batemans who booked this excursion after friends of theirs raved about it last year. They agreed that it lived up to the excellent comments from their friends who called it the best excursion they had ever taken anywhere. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly and the setting for the lunch was tranquil with a wonderful view.

Just want to tell you we had a delightful trip in Turkey! Our tour guide was great and my husband and I felt like this tour was the best one we had on our cruise. I also told the travel agent who suggested your company how great it was. Thank you so much. I am putting a "bookmark" on your website so whenever we travel in the future we can again look for excursions you offer. You were great!

Five of us went on the "Discovery of Christian Ephesus". I cannot begin to tell you how enjoyable this tour was. Our guide was extremely knowledgable. He also knew how to arrange our tour. The ship's tour buses went to the House of the Virgin Mary first. Therefore Denis took us to the Basilica of St. John first. We were the only people there throughout our entire tour. As we were leaving another tour bus showed up. It was as if those ruins were soley for our viewing. Ephesus was magnificent and again our guide was a wealth of knowledge. The food at our lunchstop was wonderful. We could not have asked for a better tour and guide. It was so pleasant not being with a large crowd trying to see and hear. We would cetainly recommend this tour to everyone.

Our Shore Trip was great. We added people to it whom we met on the ship and they all thanked me profusely for offering the trip to them, and they were happy to take my business card as a travel agent. You made it easy to add them by asking me to collect cash and then you just put the net amount on my credit card. I have given a testimonial on using you on three different YTB team calls, encouraging the others to use you as well. Our Christian Ephesus shore trip was the highlight of our cruise.
