Enjoy a ride on a classic gondola, the unique experience for which Venice is famous. A gondola is a traditional Venetian rowing boat, that has for centuries been the chief means of transportation within Venice. Although water taxis are now used on a day to day basis, gondolas still serve as traghetti (ferries) over major canals. And of course, anyone in Venice for the first time must experience the gondola ride!
Your private ride will be approximately 45 minutes in length. Your gondolier, who will stand facing the bow, will propel you through the magical waters of Venice by pushing a single oar, as gondoliers have done for centuries.
At the end of the tour, we suggest a short walk to the famous Florian Cafe right on St. Mark's Square, where you can find a great cup of coffee and a special dessert. Return to your ship by non-private shuttle (see Special Instructions).
To make this an extra special event, you may wish to be serenaded by a singer and guitarist or accordionist while floating down the the canals of Venice. Choose the singer serenade option when you book the tour.
If you think you might get thirsty during your ride, you may add a bottle or more of Prosecco to sip while cruising the canals of Venice. Choose the optional wine option when you book the tour.

Overall, the excursion was very good and enjoyable. We had a great time on the gondola ride. Yes, very nice and a lot of fun. The ride lasted ~45 minutes. The weather was perfect and the ride was great.
You may only add a singer if you have 4 or less passengers on the gondola due to licensing.

We have included a one way transfer from the cruise ship pier to St. Mark's square, assistance from the vaporetto stand to the gondola stand and the gondola ride itself. There is a small fee for the non-private return shuttle to your cruiseship. PLEASE BUY YOUR RETURN TICKET FOR THE SHUTTLE FROM ST. MARK'S SQUARE BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR SHIP TO SAVE TIME.
Please note that the 2-hour length is approximate and includes your transfer time to the gondola.
