Tour Juneau with a naturalist photography guide who will lead you to local "photo hot spots", while sharing tips and techniques to help enhance your images. You will visit some of Juneau's top sites, while also encountering an exciting variety of marine wildlife!
You will be given a lively motorcoach tour of downtown Juneau, before continuing on to the first portion of the excursion, which will take you by land to various prime destinations. A memorable stop at the Mendenhall Glacier includes a 1.5-hour interpretive walk along a comfortable trail through the glacial moraine as you capture great landscape, nature, and wildlife shots along the way.
Next you will board a 32-foot exploration vessel for an unforgettable journey through the waterways of Juneau's Channel Islands. During your 2.5-hour ride, you will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the surrounding natural environment. The boat is sheltered from rain, and has large panel windows that open to provide unrestricted views of the majestic scenery. Its large pontoons provide a steady platform for photographing the magnificent Alaskan marine wildlife and landscape as well.
Groups are kept small to ensure a personal and highly interactive experience, and the itinerary is kept flexible for maximum enjoyment.

JUNEAU...P Hazard
The photo safari was exactly what I wanted! Our guide was not only knowledgable about photography but was also a naturalist. I was in heaven seeing whales all around us and having someone educate me on my camera so I could get great shots of them breeching and giving us "tail". Going from the ocean to a forest environment was a perfect complement--ending with the Mendenhall Glacier. Topping it off was receiving a CD to remind me of what I had learned. Thank you for a great experience.

We had a great time and our guide was the best. Our guide was very informative and helpful with settings for our camera to get the best shots and results. We seen a pod of Humpback Whales bubble feeding which is a rare sight. We were able to see bears at the stream gathering Salmon. Our guide was knowledgeable about bears and turned us away from the trail the bears were on. He was concerned about every ones safety and made suggestions to the ones that might not be able to handle the hiking terrain. We would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to see the wildlife up close and take beautiful pictures.

What Fun! Our Juneau tour and whale watching excursion was fabulous. Thank goodness we had two wonderful tour guides. Our guide was able to take the walking group to the walking trails and the bus driver took the non-walking people to the Juneau sites. My aunt was excited to see the governors mansion. Also our guide taught us so much about photo picture. It was a great experience.

In Juneau we took the Photo tour and Brandon was our guide. We were able to photograph many orcas and humpbacks, sea lions and eagles. I was very impressed with Brandon's ability in helping each one of us learn to use our camera's to their best advantage. Many people had expensive high powered cameras and he helped them, but he also spent time with me showing me how to get the best pictures with my little inexpensive digital. I just want to commend ShoreTrips.com on their ability to choose great trips and the people that run them.

Special Instructions
Please wear your walking shoes and dress in layers. Rain gear and binoculars will be provided, and bottled water and a light snack will be available.
Photography tips and techniques are provided along with guided interpretation.
There will be the opportunity to create your own photo book at the end of the tour. A free disk is provided for each guest with pictures and tips from the guides. Children receive their own FREE digital camera.
Restrictions
This tour is only for those who are healthy walkers. Be prepared for the possibility of inclement weather.
