Alaska brings out the best in you and your physical abilities. My guess is that smokers leave Alaska promising to quit after inhaling the high-oxygen air. I had boundless energy when I visited Alaska and felt that nothing was beyond my ability - well, almost!
For this trip, you don't need to worry. Even you novices who park in the closest space at the mall will have fun on this entertaining trip.

This tour proves to be a combination of sorts, as you begin at the harbor with a tour by inflatable boat of the shoreline and its inhabitants. While cruising along, you will have the opportunity to see whales, sea lions, porpoises, seals, and a host of birds including our famous bald eagle - that is, if they are cooperating. Regardless, your guides will educate you on life along the shore, which is part of the food chain in Alaska.
You will leave your inflatable raft on the beach and begin a wonderful hike into the temperate coastal rainforest on Betton Island. Your guide has been here so frequently that even the slightest change in the scenery will catch his eye. He will be able to point out vegetation and flowers that are unique to this area, and the purpose they have served.
This is informative in a fun way and all ages can enjoy each facet of this tour.

| Our ORCA Beach Rainforest hike was great! My wife and I enjoyed every minute, the 'smaller' group sizes were wonderful. We were met at our ship, had no problem finding the tour operators and were back in plenty of time. Our tour operators were very good, gave us a wonderful tour of the wildlife and a hike on the island. Would recommend this to anyone! |
