I always thought of St. Martin as a bit schizophrenic, but now that I know the story of its Dutch/French split, it makes so much sense to me that I think it should be implemented elsewhere.
Two men were dispatched from opposite sides of the island and the point at which they met determined the dividing line. France acquired three fifths of the island, while the Netherlands procured a smaller portion, but one that had greater natural resources.
And, they all lived happily ever after.

On this tour you will: • International Looking-Out Point • Marigot • Grand Case • Shopping time
Here's a nice way to see a very nice island. Your van will drive you up to the International Looking-Out Point as you move from the Dutch side of the island to the French side.
A stop in the French capital city of Marigot will provide you with time to stroll, shop and sample the French pastries.
The drive will continue to another vista point... this one showing you Orient Bay and, in the distance, St. Barts. You'll drive through Grand Case and learn about its charm.
If you like taking 'Sunday drives' back home, you'll love this tour.

You will have a great "feel" of this island after this tour and plenty of time to explore on your own for the remainder of the day.

| Absolutely fantastic!!!!!!! Our guide Joe gives new meaning to "shore excursions" - far surpassing our expectations. His hospitality, island knowledge and care and concern of each passenger is quite extraordinary. He made you feel as if you were a personal family friend, visiting the island for the 1st time, sharing his way of life with you. No more cruise line excursions for us!!! Thank you Joe, and all the folks at ShoreTrips!!! |

This tour was designed to give us a break from the beach and water. It was perfect. We had a terrific island tour; the guides really knew their history. We shopped. We had a very good lunch. Then, to top it off, we enjoyed our return to the ship in a Mercedes. Not so bad!!! This was the best value of all the tours we took. We felt these guys went far above and beyond. |

| The overall Shoretrip was easy to book and the island tour was great! Stanley, was our driver in St. Martin and he was great. He certainly had all the answers to the million questions I asked. We were fortunate to be the only ones who showed up for this particular tour and were basically treated like royalty. I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. I personally thought that the tour was a bit expensive but I realize that getting great people to work with you and reliable vehicles it takes money. Thanks again to Stanley! |
