What makes one tour better than another is something we have studied. Belize, a wonderful destination, is more acclimated to tourists than most in Central America. Yet, we know that it is the personality of the guide that can make or break your experience, not just the activity.
For that reason, we have handpicked our choices personally and will cheer everytime we can introduce you to these great guys! Your day will begin immediately upon disembarkation and you will be entertained from beginning to end. Their graciousness will build a connection to this lovely country.

On this tour you will: • Altun Ha ruins • scenic drive • Belize City tour highlights
Altun Ha, once a model Mayan city, was the link in the Caribbean trade route that ran north through the Yucatán. Its ruins were discovered by quarriers looking for stone to build the Old Northern Highway. Their discovery of 2000-year-old specimens were just the beginning of the uncovering of the remnants of 13 structures surrounding two plazas, including one 60-foot temple now called the Temple of the Sun God.
This adventure is even more enticing once you realize that the location is fairly close to Belize City and situated in the rain forest for an added experience.
The ruins are breathtaking and easily walked. You will get expert guidance as you move from one plaza to the other through a forest path. Those who prefer to wait can find some benches rather than hazard the uneven surface. As some of the areas are easily accessible, they will be able to see a good share of the ruins before making themselves comfortable.
Along with this experience, add a tour of Belize City, the life pulse of Belize. Belize City is teeming with commerce and has adapted its two sides of the river with a connection by the Swing Bridge. You will see the bustle, along with historic Fort George, a variety of embassies, consulate homes, and an area called the Beverly Hills of Belize. Your visit to the Baron Bliss Lighthouse will be accompanied by its story. This and other landmarks from the colonial period will take you back almost 200 years.
Belize City, the largest city in this small country, has much to offer and will surprise you in many ways.

Karen and our 2 friends were the only people on this tour. Our tour guide was excellent. He was very informative and was able to shape the tour to our desires. When we return, we will be looking for him again.

This ShoreTrip to the Altun Ha Mayan ruins was terrific! We had a wonderful guide and he couldn't have been more accommodating or informative. Our tour was very personalized because it was just the three of us...so nice not to be in a large group. He brought us to the ruins in an air conditioned car so it made for a very pleasant trip! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for a wonderful shore excursion in Belize. My husband and I booked the Altun Ha ruins and city tour. I was very pleased with the pick up from the tourist village. Our tour guide was excellent. He did a great job keeping the group together and giving us enough time to get all the pictures we wanted. He also made sure I did not fall on the walk down the stairs. He was great. Again thank you! And I will continue to recommend your company for all my guest shore excursion needs.

We had a very positive experience on our excursion to Altun Ha with Shoretrips. Our guide was a wealth of information, considerate, courteous, and flexible in answering extra questions that came up along the way. He was careful to keep us on the ship's schedule, which was tricky as there were customers from two different ships on the excursion. I learned a great deal about Altun Ha and Belize and would recommend this excursion to anyone. I am a cruise counsellor new to the business and this was my first experience with Shoretrips. I know now I can stand behind your product.

We went on the Altun Ha shore trip a few weeks ago, and have nothing but praise for our trip and especially our driver and tour guide. He was a non stop source of information for several hours, knowledgeable about the history of the place, and what's going on at the present. Coming and going provided us also with an idea of what Belize City looked like as well. We loved the small van, only 8 of us went, and much prefer that to big cruise line bus tours. We happen to enjoy learning about the history and the area of places we visit; not just shopping and beaches, so will look for a similar venue should we cruise again. Thank you.

What a fabulous tour this was. Our guide was a wealth of information. We had a great time and learned so much. Despite the heat and humidity this tour was well worth the time. We all felt like we had a real feel for the city and the ruins. The guide showed us lots of unique things in the city and was accommodating enough to drop some of the group at the water taxi stop. With our guides help, we all really gained an appreciation for the country of Belize. |

The Altun Ha ShoreTrip was fun and informative. The tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. She was prompt to pick us up and leisurely in the tour. She returned us to our departure point on time. She was also willing to make side trips if there was anything we saw of particular interest. I would highly recommend this trip.
