BELIZE ZOO WILDLIFE AND CITY TOUR

What makes one tour better than another is something we have studied. Belize, a wonderful destination, is more acclimated to tourists than most in Central America. Yet, we know that it is the personality of the guide that can make or break your experience, not just the activity. For that reason, we have handpicked our choices personally and will cheer everytime we can introduce you to these great guys! Your day will begin immediately upon disembarkation and you will be entertained from beginning to end. Their graciousness will build a connection to this lovely country.

BELIZE ZOO WILDLIFE AND CITY TOUR On this tour you will:
• Visit Belize zoo
• Tour Belize City
• Fort George
• See "Beverly Hills of Belize"
• Stop at Baron Bliss lighthouse

For many, a must-see attraction is the Belize Zoo. The ride to your destination will be as interesting as your visit to the zoo. For about 45 minutes, your guide will fascinate you with the stories and facts of this small nation. Once you arrive at the zoo, you are in for a fun experience, whether young or old.

The zoo opened in 1983 after the filming of a movie called Path of the Raingods. The film's production assistant was left with a collection of semi-tame animals no longer able to fend for themselves in the wild. Today, it is a wildlife rehabilitation center supported by foundations and donations.

The opportunity to present native animals for both locals and visitors alike developed into a reality. Now these native animals live in their natural habitat but are monitored and kept healthy. The Belize Zoo is now settled upon 29 acres of tropical savannah and has approximately 125 animals all native to Belize.

The theme of "a walk through Belize" takes you on a trail through the pine ridge, the rainforest, lagoons and the river forest. Local residents at the Belize Zoo include the Toucan, Belize’s national bird, the Tapir, Belize’s national animal, and the five largest cats in Central America, including the Jaguar.

Along with this experience, add a tour of Belize City, the life pulse of Belize. Belize City is teeming with commerce and has adapted it's two sides of the river with a connection by the Swing Bridge. You will see the bustle, along with historic Fort George, a variety of embassies, consulate homes, and an area called the Beverly Hills of Belize. Your visit to the Baron Bliss Lighthouse will be accompanied by it's story. This and other landmarks from the colonial period will take you back almost 200 years.

I am the client and the travel agent and this was our first cruise. We loved this excursion. It was the last port on our cruise and we wanted something that we could do at a relaxing pace. The tour guide was great. He told us about the history of the island as well as the updates on the improvements being made since last years hurricane season. The story behind the Belize zoo was so interesting. What an incredible way to see these beautiful animals in their natural habitat. Quite a bit different than what we are used to seeing at the zoo in the states. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

We arrived early for our tour, but they were already there waiting for us. We were the only two people on our tour. Our tour guide was very informative and had a wealth of information both at the zoo and in the city. He never seemed to hesitate in answering any of our questions. Certainly would recommend this tour to anyone.

Our guide was waiting for us when we got off the ship. She escorted us directly to a very clean and new van. Our trip to the zoo (approx. 45 mins.) was very interesting. Our guide was very informative and interacted well with our boys. She was terrific. The trip was worth every penny, and we would recommend it to anyone who is considering this excursion. We saw animals that we had never seen before, and it was a very unique and beautiful setting. Overall, we are very happy with your service and value of the excursions and look forward to using it again for our next trip.

I was the one on the shoretrip along with two other passengers. The guide who took us was very pleasant and knowledgable. She was there early waiting for us and we wanted to leave a little early so that worked out perfectly. She was happy to accommodate us. The Zoo was very interesting. Long ride, but van was air conditioned. We were glad we went.

Just got back from our cruise and wanted to thank you guys. Our guide in Belize was probably the best guide in the country. He was a wealth of information at both the zoo and in the city. The rest of our trip was fantastic. Will be in touch when we're ready for our next cruise!

THANK YOU for a great great zoo tour with Joe!! He was there HOURS before we had to leave (and we came early so it worked out great!). We four moms from Calif. felt safe with him, and he was a gentleman and verrryy informative. His van was spotless and he had arisen at 4am from his home 1.5 hrs. away and took a bus to work and then filled up the van to pick us up. WOW…! He answered our questions in detail, had a head-set on and was very helpful at the zoo showing us where the animals hid. He even made spider-monkey noises and they RESPONDED!! We were just sooooooo grateful for his help, and humbleness. He’s stopped on the side of the road to let us take photos, and was never in a hurry. So thanks a million; I’d use your site in a second and you can use this for a reference…Many Many thanks!
