Our Nine Mile tour will introduce you to a community that helped influence one of the greatest musicians of this century. It will leave you with a better understanding of a young man, whose vision helped change the thoughts of people worldwide. No small achievement for a man who often spoke of his respect for the simple rural life. Respect that helped guide his life. Respect instilled during his youthful days in the small mountain village locals still call Nine Mile.

On this tour you will: • Visit Nine Mile village • Scenic drive • Bob Marley's home • "Mount Zion Rock" • Fireside • Muir House & Brown's Town
This tour takes you through some of the most breathtaking, picturesque scenery in Jamaica, traveling through Higgins Town and Claremont to the village of Nine Mile, a quaint little place in the beautiful mountains of St. Ann. This is where the legendary "King of Reggae", Bob Marley was born on February 6th 1945, and is the very same place he was later laid to rest.
The tour starts at the family home where the family’s history began. Many of Bob's close family still lives there, including his mother, affectionately known as Mother B and Uncle Lloyd her brother, who tells tales of Bob's childhood.
The tour takes you through the house Bob lived in as a young boy, and your Rastafarian guide will share with you little known insights into Bob Marley's childhood and musical career. You will get to stand on "Mount Zion Rock" where Bob used to meditate and rest his head on "the pillow" made famous in the song "Talking Blues". Finally, walk through the mausoleum, which is the final resting place of the Reggae King. You will also see the Fireside where Young Bob Marley cooked his meals as depicted in the song No Woman No Cry quote “we would cook cornmeal porridge of which I share with you".
Your return trip is a continuation of your excursion, which takes you through rural Jamaica, as you wind your way through scenic Muir House and Brown's Town. You will see the Brown’s Town market, famous for its produce. There is no better way to end your tour as you return to your North Coast destination.

Nine Mile is owned and operated by Bob's family. It is not unusual to find his mother, affectionately called Mother B, personally greeting visitors, sometimes even being persuaded to relate stories of her son's childhood. And, if not Mother B, there is always Uncle Lloyd who is never too far away or too busy to tell tales of young Nesta.

| The Bob Marley tour was fantastic and my husband and I loved every minute of it! Our van driver was the greatest and we very much enjoyed talking to him during the 1.5 drive through the mountains (each way) between Ochos Rios and Nine Mile. He couldn't have been more friendly, knowledgeable or accommodating to us. We made sure to get a picture with him too! Also, since the Bob Marley tour isn't offered as a regular shore excursion by any of the cruise lines, we were able to get away from all the other people for a few hours which was really, really nice. We went on 3 ShoreTrips during our 4/09 cruise and they were all great – but Bob was definitely the best! |

| Our Nine Mile shore excursion in Ocho Rios was fantastic. Our driver was a wealth of Local and historic information as well as part time comedian and off road driving champion - We all had a RIOT !! I would certainly return to Ocho Rios and I would definitely use and recommend ShoreTrips to our travelling friends. Our reception at the pier was prompt and courteous also; given the amount of excursions that were departing around the same time as us everything went smooth and quickly. Great Job ! |

We had a fabulous trip to Bob Marley's birthplace! Definitely the highlight of our vacation. Our driver took such good care of us, especially after we got toasted with the Rastaman guys at Marley's.
