Your exciting tour will begin with a short but picturesque drive south of Roseau through the quaint village of Pointe Michel to the facilities at Champagne. Here you will be outfitted with high quality snorkel gear and given an orientation to the facility and the adventure that awaits you.
Champagne is Dominica's premier snorkeling site, and in recent years has earned the reputation as being one of the top five underwater destinations in the world. The pristine waters of Champagne have been nicknamed as such due to the many tiny crystal bubbles that continuously rise from small volcanic geothermal fissures in the sea floor. Gliding through these bubbles is like swimming in a glass of champagne!
The reefs in these waters are quite spectactular as well; expect to see a myriad of sea life including sponges, lobster, parrot fish, turtles, sea horses, as well as a multitude of gorgeous multi-coloured hard and soft coral.
After your time in the water you will have time to refresh yourself back at the facilities, before returning to the pier.

| We LOVED this excursion!!! We were met at the pier and stopped by the another pier to pick up two passengers from another ship. We then went to the dive shop and walked down to the beach where we simply walked in the water! That was a very nice change from the standard boat ride to a snorkel site. Our guide was wonderful! He showed us all sorts of different fish, 2 cannons and an anchor from a long sunk ship - and the bubbles !!!!The thermal release of bubbles really does look like you are snorkeling thru champagne! The water there gets very warm, so its also like snorkeling in a tub of warm water! It was an awesome experience and we will do it again !!! |

| It was awesome!!! We had a wonderful guide and there were only 6 in our group. We saw so many amazing fish. One of the best snorkeling trips we have ever done! |

| We got to the snorkel site and were given life vests and were walked to the edge of the water. To be honest, it was all kind of weird. It was just the three of us - me, my husband and my son. Once we got in the water,it was fantastic! Wow. We had our own personal guide the whole time in the water and he was very good. (A catamaran arrived with tons of people on it and they were all bumping into each other.) After when we got done snorkeling, we were given a rum punch. The driver was waited for us. |

All was excellent with the Champagne Snorkel Adventure. We were met at the dock by someone holding a card with our name on it, brought to a shuttle with a friendly driver and a knowledgeable guide, and promptly taken to the snorkel location. There we received a guided tour of the reef by a knowledgeable diver.
We appreciated the very personalized service. There were only two of us and the staff gave us their full attention. We noted the offering provided by the ship. A catamaran pulled up to the snorkel location as we were about to leave and a boatload of people got into the water. Our personalized one on one snorkel adventure was far superior. |

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Champagne Bay. The bus driver and the guide, were at the pier to greet us. The actual snorkel guide was amazing and filled with knowledge in the water. He guided us to all of the exciting things we saw in the water. He then allowed us to snorkel on our own. We will definitely look into ShoreTrips for another shore excursion.

Our Champagne Snorkel Adventure was absolutely amazing! It was only the four of us and was truly spectacular. Our guide and driver took wonderful care of us and really made us love Dominica. When we got to the bay, we were turned over to a young man. I told him I wanted to see seahorses and he showed me
seahorses. I have done extensive snorkeling and had only seen one before. The champagne bubbles were amazing. The best part of the trip was that they let us determine our own pace. When he had showed us all he thought we wanted to see, he returned to shore and we snorkeled for about another hour. When we returned to where we left our bag, Our driver and guide were waiting for us. We highly recommend this trip. |

My husband and I travelled with 4 of our young adult children on the week of August 16th to 23rd, 2009. We have used Shoretrips in the past, and were really happy with the quality of the excursions.The cruise didn't allow us to book excursions ahead of time for this trip, so we booked the majority of our trips with ShoreTrips. We have recommended Shoretrips to many people. We have always found the personalized service of the excursions to be great. We will definitely use Shoretrips again on future trips. Let me add that when we got onboard our ship, they changed the itinerary due to Tropical Storm Ana. I called Shoretrips and over the phone they switched everything so we could still get to all our excursions even though the port days were changed. A while later, the ship changed back the itinerary to the original itinerary, so I had to call Shoretrips again. Both times, Shoretrips was so wonderful over the phone, and all our excursions went without a hitch. Much easier than the long lines we had to wait in onboard ship to change the 2 excursions we had booked with them.
Here are our reviews: We were met at the pier as instructed. Once on our way, our driver was very nice and took us to the site where we would snorkel at Champagne. It was a great drive and we got to see lots of aspects of the island. Once we arrived, our guide issued our snorkel equipment, which was some of the best we've had in comparison to many excursions we've been on in the past. There were not many people at this site, so it was like we had the whole area to ourselves. The reef area, snorkeling, and everything we saw as far as marine life was amazing. Our guide showed us how the bubbles float up from the heated vents in the bottom of the area and swam down with each one of us so we could get a closer look. Although snorkeling through the 'champagne' is the main attraction, we found the marine life to be the most exciting. We are all excellent swimmers, so we pretty much had free reign of the area to snorkel and swim as much as we wanted with no real restrictions other than to stay in the designated area, which was very large. She showed us sea horses, seas cucumbers, and other marine life to assure we saw as much as possible. The place was teeming with all sorts of fish, schools of squid, and many other fish. It was an excellent snorkel trip. Thank you ShoreTrips. |

| Absolutely AWESOME ---- well selected --- efficient and perfect in every way. It was easy to find the taxi and we were personally escorted to the ocean and accompanied by a personal snorkeler. She even pointed out underwater life and got a sample of the water from an "underwater hot spring". Magnificent THANK YOU!!! |

| This snorkel adventure was among our best ever. The Champagne Reef is wonderful. We encountered every variety of parrot fish on our laminated fish identification card along with lobsters, three different kinds of eels, scorpion fish, puffer fish, trunk fish, wrasses, sergeant majors, lizard fish, and many many more. We had the snorkel guide, Diana, all to ourselves; and she was pleasant, patient and informative. In her words, "when I watch peoples' reactions, I realize what a special place this is." |
