Trace the roots of independence in Boston. Explore the Freedom Trail and three plus centuries of history. Start at the Old State House where the Declaration of Independence was first read in Boston on July 18, 1776 and has been read every July 4th since then.
We'll then continue to the Old Granary Burying Ground, past Boston Common and the Public Garden where we will see the Swan Boats. We will pass the State House with its magnificent gold dome and stop at the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial. We'll go through Beacon Hill and Louisburg Square, one of the most exclusive residential areas of Boston including a home of Senator Kerry.
Next, we're off to the North End where we will see the Old North Church the famous location for the hanging of the lanterns indicating the approach of the British and the ride of Paul Revere. Enjoy a stop at Mike’s pastry shop, famous for Italian pastry of all kinds and a favorite stop for President Clinton when visiting Boston. We will then proceed by Paul Revere’s House.
Our next stop will be Faneuil Hall (also known as Quincy Market) where you will be able to get out and visit the many shops, pushcart vendors and endless options for a test of Boston. Faneuil Hall is a really cool marketplace and meeting hall, designed in the style of an English country market. Buy a cute necklace or Boston postcard, lingerie or even lobster salad! After your stop at Faneuil Hall you will see the USS Constitution “Old Ironsides” and Bunker Hill before heading back to the cruise ship pier.

Q: What's a cannoli?
A: Cannolis are Italian, but they're a staple in the Boston diet. Cannolis consist of tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough, filled with a sweet, creamy filling usually containing ricotta cheese blended with some combination of vanilla, chocolate and/or pistachio.

Boston is such a great place. I had not been in a really long time, and whenever I was there in the past, it was for business, so we didn't get to play very much. Paul Revere's house; Old Ironsides, the USS Constitution; Beacon Hill, how do those people live so close together? It was all just wonderful. Our guide Rick was right on time. He presented us with a small photo album of memories that we might not have been able to see. For instance, the Swan Boats had already been put away for the season and there is a photo of them in our memory book. He was very informative and took great care of us.
