Take advantage of Ketchikan’s incredible landscape and protected waters as you set out on the great “Aleutian Ballad”, a fantastically fun and real sea crab fishing vessel that’s even been featured on the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" program! Equipped with a real fishing crew and catching gear, the vessel has been completely remodeled to accommodate leisure travelers.
You’ll feel comfortable and safe with the ship’s heated and sheltered amphitheater designed for perfect viewing of all the action. Or maybe you’re more of an adventurous type and prefer to climb up onto the panoramic upper deck. Either way, get ready to see all sorts of sea creatures such as king crab, dungeous crab, box crab, plus gigantic eel, prawns, sharks, rock fish, gray cod and many other surprises! It’s also not rare that you’ll see whales and porpoises swimming by on your journey.
If you’re an animal lover, don’t worry! The fishermen won’t keep what comes in. Instead, the creatures will be placed into a live tank onboard so you can get a really good look at them and even touch some if you want! They will then be released back into the wild.

This trip is great for all ages, but especially for children and seniors as the ship is very comfortable and safe. This excursion has a low level of physical activity.

| We utilized your services for all four of our shore excursions. Icy Strait Point, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan were all superb. People were where they were supposed to be and the experiences were right on! On top of that, we had sunny skies in each port. I'm sure we'll be using you again. |
