The Blue Cave is something very special. The dazzling blue waters of Kotor Bay are reflected off the sandy bottom and onto the walls of the cave, thus creating the remarkable iridescence found there.
Your private speed boat will first take you to Island Lady of the Rock, a man-made island, created by sinking rock-filled ships and huge boulders. Even today, at an annual event, locals come to drop rocks in the water to increase the size of the island. Here you will visit the Church of the Lady of the Rock, as well as a small museum. Or if you prefer, choose instead to visit the small town of Perast where you can enjoy a coffee or ice cream.
From here, your boat heads to the Blue Cave, where you will marvel at the cave's color and jump into the crystal clear water for a swim or enjoy watching others dive in. There's a nearby beach for additional swimming or sunbathing and having a refreshing drink at the bar.
After boating back to town, your tour will stop a traditional olive mill, where you will have the opportunity to see and taste the delightful oil produced here as well as enjoy a delicious homemade lunch including dessert and coffee.
After lunch, it's time to stroll the winding streets of Kotor, one of the most beautiful fortified towns in the Mediterranean. Your walk through the old streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site will be accompanied by narration from a dedicated local guide. A large number of the monuments, including four Romanesque churches and the town walls, were seriously damaged by the 1979 earthquake. But the town has since been restored to its former beauty. A highlight of your tour will be St. Tryphor's Cathedral, the most impressive building in town. It contains a rich art collection, distinctive rose windows and many silver and gold artifacts. Today Kotor is a city of traders and famous sailors in which carnivals and fiestas are organized each year to give additional charm to this unique city.
After your tour, you will have some free time to continue exploring, do a little shopping or enjoy a snack.
