ShoreTrips says...

By definition, backcountry fishing is fishing that is done on the inland waters around the flats in the shallows and channels. This area is pristine, clear, and, best of all, always full of fish.

Come fish the beautiful, clear, and calm inshore waters of Key West! Our 24’ bay boats are comfortable and shallow to get you to where the fish are. We get to the fishing grounds quickly so that we can make the most of our day. We do stand-up fishing with light tackle spin fishing gear or fly fishing gear (your choice) to catch the best fish out there, and we practice catch-and-release on all inedible species (and keep a few of the ones that are good for eating!).

In the backcountry, we're always on the hunt for many different species of fish. In fact, during the winter, it is not uncommon to have one of our fishing charters come back with 20+ species of fish. Backcountry fishing appeals to folks who just want to bend rods on many different species of fish, or on whatever is available--as long as it fights.

Here's a general guide to what we catch and when we catch it:
Winter (November-February): Snappers, jacks, barracudas, ladyfish, trout, mackerel, cobia, sharks, bluefish
Spring (March-June): Tarpon, snappers, barracudas, sharks, jacks, permit
Summer (July-October): Bonefish, tarpon, permit, snappers, barracudas, sharks
