Learn about one of America's Greatest Singer/Songwriters and his years in Key West!

Singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years, and his music tells the stories about the places and faces he has seen during his lifetime, and notably during his time in Key West.

Jimmy Buffett arrived in Key West in 1971, and instantly had a deep affection for this town, with its laid-back drinking culture at the bars, the friendly but quirky residents, and the year-round balmy tropical weather and warm breezes that gently caress the island on any given day. But you will also learn that Key West in the 1970s was not the tourist-friendly town it is today. It was the last stop for smugglers, hustlers, artists, and the uninhibited who simply couldn't run any further south in the United States. Here is where a young Jimmy Buffett was thrown into the midst of a wide range of people and found his true voice as a songwriter, telling the stories of these people, the beach bums, the hustlers, and the pirates from all over the world.

This walking tour will take you to the locations around Old Key West that inspired his songs, and where he played his first gig. You will also see some of his favorite watering holes, places he ate, bars he played in, his recording studio, the first and the current location of Margaritaville, and Mallory Square.
The tour will end at Capt. Tony's Saloon, a bar that has been patronized throughout the years by many well-known artists, writers, and celebrities.
