It's just a short ride from the cruise ship pier to the start of your fishing adventure. With everything you need already prepared, you'll leave the Hoonah boat harbor for the abundant waters of Port Fredrick.
The experienced and skilled captain and crew of this 32' comfortable boat are committed to personal service and to working their hardest to put a tasty "barn door" halibut on your line. These feisty (and tasty) fish put up quite a fight so you're in for some action.
Your crew will target the specific type of Pacific Halibut that is in season during your visit to increase your odds of success.
You are able to have your catch cleaned, processed and shipped through a local fish company. Feel free to discuss this with your captain on the day of the charter.

Days of Operation
Departures (local time)
- 3.5 hrs - Morning. The departure time will be determined when the reservation is confirmed.
- 3.5 hrs - Afternoon. The departure time will be determined when the reservation is confirmed.
- 3.5 hrs - Evening. (Late May - Early August) The departure time will be determined when confirmed.
Transfer / Meeting Instructions
No Taxi Required Specific pick up or taxi instructions will appear on your voucher after you purchase your trip.Special Instructions
• If your ship arrives at the Wilderness Dock, it is either a 15-20-minute walk or a 3-minute gondola ride (possible additional cost), plus a 5-minute walk to the meeting location.
• Hotel or Airbnb guests will need to find their own way to the meeting location. Specific instructions will appear on your voucher.
• Fish can be processed and shipped home at your expense and will be discussed by the fishing captain on the day of the tour.
• Bring your camera to capture some great photos of your catch.
• The boat is equipped with a heater and a restroom.
• This tour will operate during a light rain.
Restrictions
• There is a limit of one halibut per person. The fish must measure 40” or less or 80” or more. You may catch and release up to the point that a fish is retained. At that point, you have caught your limit and are through fishing halibut for the day.
• This program fills up very fast so we recommend you book as early as possible. This is a shared fishing program where you will be placed with other guests.
• This tour requires a minimum of 4 to operate. We will do our best to combine you with other guests.
• This tour can accommodate up to 6 guests.
• This tour can accept guests in collapsible wheelchairs.
