ShoreTrips says...

Along the southwest coast of Victoria, just a few miles outside of Melbourne, the hustle and bustle of the city gives way to sweeping vistas, sparkling bay beaches, dramatic coastline, and a relaxing Aussie vibe.

This is the Mornington Peninsula, a treasured place, loved by locals and visitors alike. To enhance this already spectacular drive, your guide will tell tales of the area's history, its early explorers and settlers. Enjoy some local spring water and nibble on Victorian treats as you pass gorgeous coastal scenes. We'll stop at a local coffee roastery for an eye-opening cup of coffee or tea.

Although it is often said "It's not the destination, it's the journey", we must take issue, as your destination is the Moonlit Animal Sanctuary. This award-winning wildlife park focuses on interaction, education, and conservation of the Land Down Under's indigenous flora and fauna. Stroll the grounds of the Sanctuary on your own or consider upgrading to a ranger-guided tour. The ranger will give you insights into a myriad of creatures, from wallabies to wombats, from koalas to kookaburras and allow up close and personal animal interactions, including hand-feeding a kangaroo and taking a selfie with a cute, cuddly koala.

By now, you'll be ready for lunch. Your guide will make arrangements for to you to dine at a local winery, offering lovely views of the vineyards. The lunch is at your expense at the time of the meal, unless you purchase the optional upgrade to a gourmet lunch, a wonderful 2-course offering including wine, and highly recommended.

In addition to the amazing views and changing topography, the Mornington Peninsula is home to some of the best wine around Melbourne. The coastal climate provides the perfect conditions for growing some of Australia's tastiest Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Pinot Noir grapes. You'll receive tutored wine tastings and behind-the-scenes visits with winemakers. Due to the seasonality of the wine-making process, this service is subject to availability.

After lunch, let your guide know what interests you the most. Maybe you'd like to visit one of the wild southern coastline's hidden beaches for a casual stroll or take the scenic drive up to Arthur's Seat, a mountainous area with beautiful homes. Perhaps you'd rather visit a private indigenous gallery, take a bushwalk through a fragrant native eucalyptus forest or sample farm fresh goat's cheese and pastries and chat with the makers. Whatever you choose, your guide will make it happen.
