PRIVATE BELIZE ZOO WILDLIFE AND CITY TOUR

PRIVATE BELIZE ZOO WILDLIFE AND CITY TOUR
ShoreTrips says...
What makes one tour better than another is something we have studied. Belize, a wonderful destination, is more acclimated to tourists than most in Central America. Yet, we know that it is the personality of the guide that can make or break your experience, not just the activity.
For that reason, we have handpicked our choices personally and will cheer every time we can introduce you to these great guys! Your day will begin immediately upon disembarkation and you will be entertained from beginning to end. Their graciousness will build a connection to this lovely country.
For many, a must-see attraction is the Belize Zoo. The ride to your destination will be as interesting as your visit to the zoo. For about 45 minutes, your guide will fascinate you with the stories and facts of this small nation. Once you arrive at the zoo, you are in for a fun experience, whether young or old.
The zoo opened in 1983 after the filming of a movie called Path of the Rain God. The film's production assistant was left with a collection of semi-tame animals no longer able to fend for themselves in the wild. Today, it is a wildlife rehabilitation center supported by foundations and donations.
The opportunity to present native animals for both locals and visitors alike developed into a reality. Now these native animals live in their natural habitat but are monitored and kept healthy. The Belize Zoo is now settled upon 29 acres of tropical savannah and has approximately 125 animals all native to Belize.
The theme of "a walk through Belize" takes you on a trail through the pine ridge, the rainforest, lagoons, and the river forest. Local residents at the Belize Zoo include the Toucan, Belize’s national bird, the Tapir, Belize’s national animal, and the five largest cats in Central America, including the Jaguar.
Along with this experience, add a tour of Belize City, the life pulse of Belize. Belize City is teeming with commerce and has adapted it's two sides of the river with a connection by the Swing Bridge. You will see the bustle, along with historic Fort George, a variety of embassies, consulate homes, and an area called the Beverly Hills of Belize. Your visit to the Baron Bliss Lighthouse will be accompanied by its story. This and other landmarks from the colonial period will take you back almost 200 years.
