After a lovely two hour drive you will arrive in Ronda, a picturesque city situated in a heavily mountainous area in the Andalucian countryside, for your fully guided tour of the city. The incomparable phenomenon of this city, set over the mass of two stones cut with a pick and separated by the narrow and deep gorge of the river, is amazing. The spectacle of this city is indescribable, and, around it, an ample valley with working fields, oaks and olive trees. And there in the distance, as if it had recovered all its strength, the pure mountain rises, range after range, until it forms the most splendid background.

While in Ronda, take note of the city's three major bridges: Puente Romano, Puente Viejo, and Puente Nuevo. These structures span the vast canyon of Ronda, and serve as some of the city's most impressive features.

The Arabic roots of Ronda are evident in the many corners of the historic centre, preserving extraordinary Mudéjar elements, legacy from the Hispanic - Muslim artisans, that after the Christian Conquest of this territory, were under the new Castilian State, conserving their religion, language, building and decorative traditions, etc. Although the use of brick and plasterwork is considered to originate in the Mudéjar period, in the city of Ronda, the Mudéjar wood paneling with elaborate decoration is especially important.

Your tour of the city will bring you to the Plaza de Toros, the oldest bullfighting ring in Spain. Built in 1785, this venue is still in use; however it currently does not host as many bullfights as other, larger arenas. Soon after the construction of the Plaza de Toros in the 18th century, a prominent family of Ronda emerged to provide over three generations of exceptional bullfighters of Spain. This family's legacy has left a lasting impression on the memories of many Spaniards.

Noted authors Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles resided in Ronda for many years, and both wrote about its beauty, which in turn have contributed to its overall popularity.
