ShoreTrips says...

This private walking tour celebrates the period in Rome when great artists such as Michelangelo, Bernini, and Borromini sculpted the city into their visions of beauty, spirituality, and grandeur.

This stroll will take you to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon, among other places.

Begin at the foot of the iconic Spanish Steps, the 138 steps that connect the Piazza di Spagna to the church Trinità dei Monti, and continue on to Piazza Navona, once the home to the city market and now the pride of Baroque Rome due to its sculptures, fountains, and architectural creations. The square also has a traditional role in housing theatrical and costume shows, horse races, and buffalo jousts.

Of course, you won't want to miss the Pantheon, the best-preserved of all Roman buildings. It began as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets in the Roman state religion but was converted to a Christian church in the 7th century. It has been used continuously throughout its history, and although it was built in 27 BC, its original roof is still intact.

Finally, come to the breathtaking Trevi Fountain, the largest of the Baroque fountains of Rome. Its placement marks the terminal point of one of the ancient aqueducts that supplied water to Rome. Made famous by the movie "Three Coins in the Fountain," it is now a commonly known legend that throwing a coin in it will ensure that the thrower will return to Rome.
