A short, 37 mile trip from Dubrovnik will transport you to another time.

After a pick up from the cruise pier, we are headed beyond Dubrovnik, to the countryside. Our destination is Ston, a medieval city home to a lesser known yet remarkable attraction, the Great Wall of Ston! Ston was once a military fort of the Ragusan Republic, surrounded by a 3,000 foot long defensive wall, 2nd in length only to the Great Wall of China. A trip to this Gothic city would not be complete without a walk on this famous wall.

Beyond roots as an important military base, this area now thrives on both land and sea, with farming, olive groves, salt production, fishing and oysters farms in abundance. To get a taste of the local flavor, a visit to their famous salt pans and a nearby winery is on the intinerary, including a sampling of the local wines with a prosciutto and cheese snack accompaning the wine.

A wine tasting is included because, well, wine enhances any experience!
