The Old Town Center is romantic and charming and the Old Town Hall (Römer) consists of three 15th century houses topped with Frankfurt's signature gables. The Gothic Tower of Frankfurter Dom was the site of Holy Roman emperor coronations for over 300 years.
This city is also home to Germany's most famous writer, Johann Wolfgang von Geothe and you can visit his birthplace. But perhaps Frankfurt is best known now as the Financial Capital of Europe and home to the European Central Bank. Its gleaming skyscrapers dominate the skyline and showcase how important this city is to not just Germany, but all of Europe.
