A TASTE OF NORMANDY, CHEESE & CIDER
A TASTE OF NORMANDY, CHEESE & CIDER
We'll begin with a scenic drive into the heart of the Auge region to the town of Lisieux. Lisieux is simply gorgeous with its timber-framed houses and amazing 12th-century cathedral.
Pass by Saint Peter's Cathedral where Saint Theresa had the revelation. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the chapel of Carmel where Saint Theresa is buried. This Cathedral is of great interest architecturally and historically to its visitors. It is a fine example of Norman Gothic art, reminding us that Lisieux was a cathedral town up until 1790.
Next you will drive to the "Village Fromager" to observe the production of Norman cheeses such as Pont Lévêque, Livarot and Petit Pavé d'Auge. Enjoy a fine taste of the finished product, served with a traditional Normandy cider!
