PRIVATE: CURIUM AND OMODOS
PRIVATE: CURIUM AND OMODOS
We'll head out in the morning to visit the ancient city-kingdom Curium. Gladiator games were actually held in the large amphitheatre which sits 2000 spectators, therefore in the city there is "Palestra" or a training place for gladiators. The whole city has beautiful floor mosaics and they are mostly found in the house of Achileas and the private bath of the founder of the city.
We'll then travel to the picturesque village Omodhos which is located in the "Krasochoria" area (wine villages). The village has been preserved pretty much in its original state and is famous for its wine production.
We'll also visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross, see the old wine-press, traditional houses or just have a coffee at one of the "kafeneion" (coffee shops) at the main square.
