You'll have a day to remember as you explore the fascinating sights, sounds, and tastes of Naples and Pompeii--and don't forget to treat yourself to a slice (or two) of margherita pizza!

"Bella Napoli," where the margherita pizza was born, is a city of many different colors and many different sides. It is renowned for the character of its people.

We will visit the Museum of National Archaeology, which contains a large collection of Roman artifacts from Pompeii, Stabiae, and Herculaneum. The collection includes works of the highest quality produced in Greek, Roman, and Renaissance times. It is the most important Italian archaeological museum.

The Cloister of Santa Chiara is hardly what you’d expect cloistered nuns to gaze upon during the course of their silent lives. Bold scenes of boar hunting, bowling, dancing, even a Carnival revel come alive in a riot of colours on the tiled panels that decorate the cloister garden of the Santa Chiara Monastery in Naples. It is an unforgettable sight.

There is the Theatre of San Carlo and a nearby bar, Gambrinus, the bar of the artists, that inherited its name from all the artists that used to drink there after exiting the theatre.

You will walk through various squares, such as the Piazza Municipio, where the castle of Maschio Angioino is located, and the vacant Royal Palace of the former Royal family that rests in Piazza Plebiscito.

If you would like to try the best margherita pizza in Naples for lunch, let your driver or guide know.

A short ride to the ruins of Pompeii, part of an ancient Roman city destroyed and buried by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D. will also be part of this tour. The remainder of the uncovered city is today buried under the new Pompeii rebuilt many years subsequent to the eruption. You will have a Pompeiian licensed guide for two hours while you are visiting the ruins.
