ShoreTrips says...

Although Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and is known as a capital of banking and finance, its Old Town still retains Medieval remnants, making it a fascinating location for a walking tour.

We begin this exploration of Zurich with a visit to its famous Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world's most exclusive and expensive shopping districts. Perhaps you'll find some stores you'd like to visit after the tour.

We move on to the vantage point of Lindenhof. Beneath this elevated square in the middle of the city center you'll find ancient Roman ruins, that of a customs post and a fortress. While you're here, take in great views of Old Town.

Next, we'll stop at the Neumarkt, which during the 12th century, was located just outside the walls of the city and was its first fortification. Your guide will explain the history of this fascinating area.

More recent history took place at number 14 Spiegelgasse. It was here that Lenin planned and prepared for the Revolution.

The Grossmünster Church, a Romanesque Protestant congregation with its distinctive twin towers is a symbol of this city. St. Peter's is the oldest church in Zurich, with sections of its 9th century walls still visible near the altar. Don't miss the largest church clock in all of Europe.

Another "can't miss" location is the city hall. This Baroque structure was built between 1694 and 1698 and is well-preserved both inside and out.

Our final stop is the Schipfe, one of Zurich's oldest districts. This lovely area, lined with the city's signature Linden trees, is home to artist workshops and charming shops.
