ShoreTrips says...

A truly unique experience awaits as you explore this ghost town, abandoned by people, but not necessarily by ghosts!???

The adventure begins as we saddle up our ATVs and, for about an hour, ride trails leading to this abandoned town. For 100 years, the town of Misnébalam was a thriving community with it's economy based on the Henequen plant, used to produce textiles.

The story goes that a number of mysteries, ghosts, gremlin-like spirits and witches led to the eventual departure of Misnébalam's last residents in 2010. There are many accounts of unusual activities having taken place in this town and your guide will fill you in on all the details.

As you wander the deserted town, it's interesting to imagine life there during flourishing times. Perhaps even more interesting is how quickly nature takes over when humans have left. Vines entangle benches in the park. Paint begins to peel. Buildings are eerily empty. Fascinating photo opportunities appear around every corner.

But this tour is more than visiting a ghost town. From here we head to a lovely lagoon for a bit of relaxation and a refreshing dip.

At last we arrive at a beautiful beach club with great amenities and gorgeous views. Pull up a beach chair, go for a swim in the pool or take a kayak for a spin. Whether you prefer relaxation or activity, we've got it all.

Delicious food and delightful drinks are available for purchase, or look for the all-inclusive food and beverage package on the pricing screen when you purchase this tour.

If time allows, you can do a bit of sightseeing and shopping in Progreso before making your way back to the cruise ship pier.
