Haines is a community just 15 miles south of Skagway. Within arm's reach is a coastal rain forest, glacial carved peaks, and a pristine marine environment. This is one of several companies that we found personable, knowledgeable, and anxious to introduce you to the assets of this area.
This round trip hike near Haines offers you tremendous views of the Chilkoot and Taiya Inlets with the Coastal Range as your backdrop. Your guide will choose hiking distance and pace based upon the group's fitness and ability levels.
Learn about the ecology of the temperate rain forest and the cultural uses of plants as you stroll beneath towering centuries-old trees. Tour highlights include emerging from the forest on to a black pebble beach (well known for marine mammal viewing), traversing wildflower meadows, and exploring tidal pools.
