This is our most popular small group kayak adventure. Explore a variety of Sitka Sound’s countless islands and wild areas!
Start out by traveling on our sturdy transport vessel for the exciting 30-45 minute ride to a beach on a remote island. Once ashore, our guide will assist you in setting up your kayak before your "Kayak & Safety 101" orientation.
After you've had some time to test out your kayak in the crystal clear shallows (and get comfortable with your craft), we'll set off for the next group of islands. While paddling through mazes of reef and kelp forest (areas accessible only by kayak), your guide will help identify the colorful marine life visible below, including: crab, sea stars, anemones, sea urchins, jellies, and more.
Don't be surprised if you meet a couple of sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, porpoise, bald eagles, and a variety of marine birds, along the way!
Next, we'll visit a secluded island to stretch our legs, do a little beachcombing, and enjoy a hearty snack while taking in the amazing views of the sound. Your friendly guide will fill you in on the ecology of the area, and also tell you about the Tlingit people, who still harvest the ocean’s bounty using knowledge passed down since the last ice age.

- 8:45 AM (4.5 hrs) Check in Time, tour departs at 9:00 am.
- 10:15 AM (4.5 hrs) Check in Time, tour departs at 10:30 am.

No Taxi Required Specific pick up or taxi instructions will appear on your voucher after you purchase your trip.Special Instructions
• We suggest that you bring sunglasses, camera, binoculars, gloves, and rain gear.
• Please Note: This adventure may also be conducted in reverse order, with the paddle outbound, followed by a cruise return to Sitka.
• We prOvide at least 1 guide for each group of 6 participants.
• Kayaking time will be 2.5 to 3 hours in length.
• Guest safety is our highest priority. Tours will be cancelled if the lead guide determines that conditions are unsafe.

• Maximum height: 6 ft., 6 inches. Maximum weight: 275 pounds.
• There is a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 for this tour.
