ShoreTrips says...

Colombia's street art scene is booming, with famous artists moving here from all over the world. Once you've explored the city, you'll know why people are flocking to Bogota.

Explore the bustling streets of Colombia's capital city. We'll begin with a walk through "La Candelaria", a historic neighborhood in downtown Bogotá. As we walk through this quarter, you'll feel as though you've been transported back in time. Here, Spanish Colonial and Baroque style homes and churches stand along cobblestone streets. We'll stroll along and admire the universities, libraries and museums that make up this gorgeous neighborhood.

As we wind our way through the area, we’ll check out the colorful street art that makes this city come alive. Not only are these murals magnificent pieces of art, they each have their own unique backstory. We’ll stop at one of Carlos Trilleras’s most famous works, which depicts a Wayuu woman. This Colombian artist’s hope is to spark discussion about indigenous groups to preserve their culture and their stories.

We’ll then make our way to "Plaza Bolivar", the main square, and admire the various government buildings that stand around the square.

From here, we'll make our way to the famous Gold Museum. This museum contains nearly 34,000 pieces of gold, in addition to 20,000 bone, stone, ceramic and textile pieces.

Our final stop will be to the Fernando Botero Museum, which contains work from this famous Colombian painter and sculptor.
