ShoreTrips says...

Not a village set up for tourists, Nalesutale is a real Lautoka community with its own culture, environment, and food. Guests are welcomed here with open arms by the village's 100 residents as a way of sharing and preserving Lautokan customs and way of life.

A shell lei welcomes you to the village of Nalesutale. An introduction to the villagers is followed by a hike, led by one of Nalesutale's young people. Experience the beauty of the lush forest that surrounds you as you make your way to a gorgeous tropical waterfall. Stand beneath the falling water for a cool, revitalizing shower and take a dip in the clear pools at the waterfall's base.

Refreshed, you'll make your way back to the village, where a traditional lunch, prepared by the ladies of Nalesutale, awaits.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated experiences of a visit to Fiji is the kava welcome ceremony. This important social and cultural event is both a welcoming gesture to visitors and, by the visitor, as a sign of respect and appreciation to their hosts. Kava, the "unofficial" drink of Fiji, is made from the crushed root of the yaqona and is known to bring about a relaxed, joyful feeling (as well as possibly some numbness around the mouth, lips, and tongue). Adopt a "when in Fiji" attitude and immerse yourself in this unique cultural tradition. We promise you will remember this experience with fondness long after you're returned home.

Your participation in this tour contributes to the support of the government and, in turn, benefits local Fijian communities. The Fijian people say “ vinaka vaka levu ” (thank you very much).
