ShoreTrips says...

We love all of our tours in Ketchikan, but we particularly relish those that we fall upon by accident, yet know they will provide an unforgettable time. This fishing boat is unique in itself as it is one of only two fishing boats in Alaska that is licensed for more than six passengers. Up to one dozen of you can take this tour and interact with the ocean in a most incredible way.

We suggest you wear your oldest clothes on this tour since you'll be getting down and dirty as you participate in a most wonderful experience. You'll find that your captain is a friendly and knowledgeable fellow when it comes to the sea and how to live by its "fruits." He'll make you feel welcome as you board this roomy and comfortable boat and, as you head out for your catch, you'll find the ride as interesting as what lies ahead. The harbor of Ketchikan is a colorful place from the water, as well as land.

The captain and his crew will take you out to an area known for its fantastic crabbing. Here, you will learn how to set your bait for Dungeness crab. The rings and bait will be supplied for you, and the crew will instruct and help you as you bring in your catch. Then, after soaking, you will boil these sweet, fresh critters for the meal of your life.

Remember to bring your camera because you never know what we might see in the wilderness surrounding Ketchikan!

Should the weather be less than ideal for crabbing on the day of your visit, your captain will offer you the option of going salmon fishing, which takes place in calmer waters than crabbing. Whichever activity you do, you can be sure that it will be a real and memorable Alaskan adventure.

This activity is perfect for all ages. All you need is five hours, an adventurous spirit, and an appetite.
