MOHAKA RIVER RAFT ADVENTURE

MOHAKA RIVER RAFT ADVENTURE
It's easy to get caught up in the beauty of New Zealand's coastline when looking for a way to spend your time. Unfortunately, this discredits the beauty of the inland landscape that features scenic canyons and towering cliffs carved out through lush native vegetation. Sounds pretty appealing, doesn't it? We wouldn't just throw you in a raft and push you out sea, so it's time to put on a wetsuit and prepare yourself for an adventure down the Mohaka River. Your experienced guide will steer you through the magnificence that is the Kaweka and Kaimanawa mountain ranges.
After getting picked up at the pier, you will journey approximately 40 minutes outside of Napier, following the route of old Maori trails, up into inland Hawke's Bay. At home base, 1,000M above sea level, your guide will outfit you in a wetsuit, booties, and fleece and splash jackets to prep for the push off onto the Mohaka River, under the backdrop of a waterfall.
The 11KM raft float trip follows a route that has been sculpted through the mountains, providing amazing views. You will take on the occasional small rapid, but for this 2 hour exploration, you will primarily float with the current of the waters. If you are feeling adventurous, consider taking a swim through "the whirlpool" with words of advice from your guide and with the safety of your life jacket. Harness the energy of the river!
New Zealand scenery at its best.
