This tour takes you to the southside of the island to see the impressive salt flats and to the north to see long-legged flamingos wading in Gotomeer Lake.

Our journey begins in Kralendijk, the main village of Bonaire, and continues through the residential and resort areas. As we travel north, you'll marvel at Bonaire's natural beauty and observe remnants of geological changes.

Next, we'll stop at the famed Gotomeer Lake. This inland lake is perhaps one of the most picturesque spots on Bonaire. Lucky visitors to this spot will get a close-up view of Bonaire's shy signature bird, the pink flamingo.

Then, it's on to Rincon, the oldest village in continual existence in the Dutch Caribbean. We'll take a short break here for refreshments.

Traveling through farmland, we'll stop at an overlook, where you can see the entire southern part of the island. Continuing to the south, we'll see how salt is made from sea water, giving you a new appreciation for your salt! You'll be amazed at the beautiful colors of sea water--from turquoise to brown to pink. This is another great photo opportunity!

Before returning to the cruise ship pier, we'll visit the historical slave huts, small buildings used during the 1800s as shelter for the slaves who toiled in the salt pans.
