SNORKEL AT THE UNDERWATER MUSEUM

SNORKEL AT THE UNDERWATER MUSEUM
ShoreTrips says...
This amazing underwater museum consists of over 400 permanent, life-size sculptures, and is one of the largest and most ambitious artificial underwater attractions in the world. How cool is that?
The Cancun Marine Park is one of the busiest stretches of water in the world with over 750,000 visitors each year, placing immense pressure on its resources. A unique ecological project aims to change that.
Located a short distance from the famous Manchones Reef, the Underwater Museum is designed to alleviate the strain on Cancun’s reef areas by drawing visitors away. As the museum grows and marine life forms, the aim is to give Cancun’s reef areas a much needed rest so they can recuperate from hurricane damage.
Each of the more than 400 life-size figures that comprise the Underwater Museum are made from ph neutral clay in order to promote the growth of coral reef and marine life. The Museum aims to demonstrate the interaction between art and environmental science, and hopes to form a complex reef structure for marine life to colonize and inhabit.
We'll take a glorious boat trip out to the stunning reef, where you'll snorkel among beautiful fish and sealife under complete supervision from our guides. With crystal clear visibility, you can enjoy the sculptures from above and surround yourself in their tranquil presence.
This is a sight not to be missed!
