This tour isn't your average tourist trap. Rather than sit on a crowded bus waiting to be dropped off at a few overpopulated locations, you'll experience the rich city of San Jose on an personal level with a guide who is passionate about sharing the city with you. You'll visit an array of major sites along with spots only known to locals paired with detailed commentary from your guide about traditional culture and customs. Once you leave San Jose, you'll feel like a piece of the city is still with you.

Your journey begins when your guide picks you up right from your hotel lobby. You'll set off on the tour by visiting San Jose's historic main streets and stopping at Parque Metropolitano La Sabana. Once Costa Rica's international airport, this space was transformed into the largest public park in the city where locals play sports and other activities on the number of soccer fields and basketball and tennis courts. This location is also home of the Costa Rican Art Museum, the headquarters of the Costa Rican Soccer Federation, The National Gym, Costa Rica's Olympic swimming pool, and the National Stadium to name a few.

After a delectable lunch at a local favorite, you'll feel recharged and ready for the next portion of the tour which encompasses San Jose's iconic architecture and art scene including visits to Central Park, Roman Catholic Cathedral, Melico Salazar Theater and National Theater - Costa Rica's crown jewel. Next to the National Theater sits Plaza de la Cultura, a buzzing square with public activities happening daily.

Next you'll visit some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in San Jose along with multiple national monuments including the Gold Museum. Owned by the Central Bank of Costa Rica, the Gold Museum houses the largest collection of pre-Colombian gold pieces within its ornate walls. A visit to the Central Market is the perfect way to end your San Jose journey. You'll roam the largest market in the city with over 200 shops and stalls that sell some of the tastiest street food in Costa Rica.
