KAYAK TO A REMOTE ISLAND

KAYAK TO A REMOTE ISLAND
ShoreTrips says...
While Tonga is not exactly ON the beaten path, this kayak paddle to the island of Pangaimotu guarantees you'll be away from the crowds.
A day of fun and adventure awaits, beginning with a pickup at the cruise ship pier. From there, enjoy the scenic 15-minute drive to the start of the kayak tour, the Popua beachfront.
These crystal clear, turquoise waters are perfect for kayaking. Since this tour is for strong paddlers, we know you're familiar with the mechanics of kayaking, but your friendly, experienced Tongan guide will provide a safety briefing before leading the way into the ocean.
Soon the rhythmic paddling will become second nature as you glide through sparkling waters, keeping watch for pods of spinner dolphins, sea turtles and in season, quite often, whales.
Upon arrival at Pangaimotu, pull your kayak up on the beach and let the explorer in you take over. There are beaches to comb for treasures from the sea. Or snorkel to shipwrecks resting here as a result of 2018's Cyclone Gita and discover the marine life which has taken up residence in these ghosts of the sea. Or even circumnavigate the entire island, a walk which will take about 25 minutes.
A delicious, fresh lunch with a beverage will be served at this idyllic location.
After about an hour and 45 minutes of island life, it's back in your kayak for the return paddle to the main island, where you'll board your vehicle for the transfer back to the cruise ship pier.
